This seems not to be the best of times for Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor both on and off the pitch. While struggling to get regular playing time with his current English club Tottemham Hotspurs, the Togolese born striker is still battling with the deteriorating relationship in his family.
The 31-year-old forward on Tuesday, May 5 took to his Facebook to open up about his dealings with his family revealing that his brother Rotimi stole 21 mobile phones from a French football academy he had had assisted him in playing in.
The former Arsenal striker also claimed to have been disallowed from seeing his now-deceased sibling Peter when he was seriously ill and was instead told by his mother to just make money available. He stressed that despite making money available to another brother Kola to fly from Germany to Africa to attend Peter's funeral, he did not show up.
In the 877-word Facebook post, the one time Manchester City striker played down reports suggesting that he sent his mother out of the house adding that he has lost count of what he has done for his family has a professional footballer.
Adebayor who said he has decided to alert the public about the on goings in his family is to make other African families learn from it.
In a swift reaction, Lucy Adebayor the sister of the striker has called his brother a lier stating that he is under a spell.
According to her “Keep on lying to the whole world brother... where is the car you got for mum… you took it back… The house you claim you bought for sister are all lies...The phones Rotimi stole are all lies
Adebayor has come out to say he is still going to reveal more to the world. One can only wonder when the storm will be over for the former African footballer of the year.
